Ethiopia is an underdeveloped country where the large majority (87%) earn $1 or less per day. Because of the extreme poverty and substandard living conditions, reaching Ethiopians with the Gospel takes a unique approach.
Because of the poverty in Ethiopia, resources are everything. If you are to make an impression on the community you must have resources, in the form of buildings. Buildings make a strong a statement to community, of strength, legitimacy & continual presence. If you have no resources, culturally you are considered as of no importance, because there – resources are everything. Other religions know this as well and have populated the area with mosques. Christian pastors and church planters are asking us to help. Their hearts are heavily burdened for their people and they must act quickly as the life expectancy is only 46 years.
They build the church buildings out of mud and straw bricks themselves but cannot afford to purchase materials for the roof. They aren’t asking for anything elaborate, not even for us to build them entire churches, all they are asking for is the finishing touch – a roof.
We have committed to help them finish 12 churches by providing 1200 iron sheets. It takes 100 sheets per church, 1200 in total.

Envoy Ministries is committed to advancing the Gospel in this unique culture by supporting church planters to spread the Gospel full-time, provide Bibles, and also to help them complete their church structures by providing iron sheets for the roofs.
